Masked Moped Riders Chase, Smash Massachusetts Man's Tesla in Road Rage Attack

A Massachusetts man says he was targeted in a frightening road rage attack after a group of masked moped riders allegedly chased him through traffic before surrounding his Tesla and smashing it, according to a report from Boston 25 News.

Chased Through Traffic

The driver described the incident as "unreal," telling Boston 25 News that the masked riders pursued his vehicle through busy traffic before closing in around the car. According to the report, the confrontation escalated when the group surrounded the Tesla and began striking it, leaving the vehicle damaged and the driver visibly shaken by the ordeal.

Details Still Emerging

Boston 25 News, which first reported the incident, has not released additional specifics about the exact location of the attack, the full extent of the damage, or whether the moped riders have since been identified or apprehended by authorities. The station's report, shared via its Facebook page, includes video footage documenting the aftermath of the confrontation.

Road rage incidents involving Tesla vehicles have drawn public attention in the past in part because of the cars' onboard camera systems, including Sentry Mode, which are designed to record activity around a parked or stationary vehicle. It is not yet clear from the available reporting whether footage from the Tesla's own cameras captured the attack described by the driver, or whether such footage may assist any subsequent investigation into the incident.
