The Model S Plaid's tri-motor powertrain produces over 1,020 horsepower, enabling it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 1.99 seconds. This makes it quicker than virtually any production car on the market, including exotic supercars costing several times more. The quarter-mile passes in under 9 seconds, making it one of the fastest production sedans ever made.

Despite its straight-line performance, the Model S remains a sophisticated grand tourer. Tesla's Supercharger network provides the fastest and most convenient charging experience. V3 Superchargers can add up to 200 miles of range in just 15 minutes, while the newer V4 Superchargers offer even faster speeds. With over 50,000 Superchargers worldwide, long-distance travel is easier than ever.

For home charging, Tesla offers the Wall Connector, which can add up to 44 miles of range per hour. Many owners simply plug in overnight and wake up to a full charge every morning. The vehicle can also charge at any public charging station using adapters for CCS and CHAdeMO standards.

The Model S has achieved the lowest probability of injury of any vehicle tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The rigid battery pack and structural design create an exceptionally strong safety cage, while the low center of gravity makes rollovers highly unlikely.
